Beauty And The Beast

  • “This version of Beauty & the Beast by Hall & Wesson maintains the traditional elements of the story, but with a number of excellent additions. It is witty and very entertaining with a script suitable for all ages. The clever word play and one liners are a delight, they come thick & fast and must not be missed.”

  • “Sitting down with a mince pie and a cup of mulled wine, Christmas has officially arrived, thanks to Amanda Hall… the pantomime by Amanda & her team is now an integral part of my Christmas and, do you know what, they just keep getting better & better.”

The Most Enchanting Pantomime

When the  Enchantress Carlotta asks for help from Prince Henri, he arrogantly turns her away.  As punishment she casts a spell turning him into a hideous beast until he learns to love and be loved in return.

Belle is a book loving, kind spirited girl from the village of Petit Pois, who lives with her father, the Tea merchant Alderman Claude, and two selfish sisters, Adrienne and Camille. They aren’t interested in books or being kind, instead they are terribly superficial and, like the other girls in the village, constantly swoon over Gustave, the village air-head hunk.  Gustave’s side-kick Phillipe Phlopp follows him around picking up the girls as they faint.

Alderman Claude owns the local cafe, Gregettes which he runs with Dame Macaron and her son Idle Jacques.

When Alderman Claude doesn’t return from the docks, Belle, Dame Macaron and Idle Jacques set out to find him and discover that he has been captured by the beast in the chateau.  In releasing her father, Belle gets imprisoned but with help from the housekeeper Madame Eclair and the gardener Hugo they manage to soften the beast’s heart but not before a mob of angry villagers, led by Gustave, raid the chateau.  Will it be too late for the Beast?
