Aladdin

“I really enjoyed seeing a very traditional version of my favourite panto Aladdin, by Amanda Hall & Matt Wesson - the King & Queen of so many productions.”

“Amanda Hall’s scripts and direction are second to none and the cast clearly enjoy playing them and engaging with the audience 200% at the Nottingham Arts Theatre. Amanda Hall’s version of Aladdin is topical, fresh and fun with deliberate groan worthy jokes and puns“

Everything you could wish for in a pantomime.
Dreaming of a better life, Aladdin wishes to stop working for his mother, Widow Twankey, in the family run business, ‘Widow Twakey’s Very Swankey Spick & Spankey Launderette’. With help (and some hindrance) from the likes of his brother Wishee Washee, Aladdin goes on an adventure and discovers a secret lamp, containing a magnificent Genie, in the hope that this will change his destiny.
Meanwhile, the evil Abanazar comes across the Spirit of the Ring and plots to overthrow Emperor Mei and marry the beautiful, feisty Princess Jasmine so that he can complete his quest to become Emperor of Peking… then China… then the World! (evil laugh!)
It is however, decreed by ancient law that the Princess must marry a Prince and Emperor Mei is keen to uphold the old laws. With assistance from Jasmine’s maid So-Shi and his bumbling police officers, Ying & Yang, the Emperor tries to keep everything in Peking in order. Will Abanazar succeed or will Aladdin come up with an in-Genie-us plan?!
